DESCRIPTION:The Workforce Development and Education Committee brings together Chamber members who are committed to strengthening the connection between education and the workforce in Madison County. This committee focuses on creating meaningful opportunities that prepare students and employees for long-term success while supporting local employers. Key projects include the bi-annual MADICO MADE Workforce Job Shadowing Day\, MADICO MADE Career Signing\, the MADICO FLEX Student Entrepreneur Program\, the MADICO MADE 2020 Vision Scholarship\, the Hire MADICO MADE program\, and technical and soft skill training opportunities for Chamber member employees. Meetings are held every other month\, with a Zoom option available to ensure accessibility. Through collaboration with educators\, employers\, and community partners\, committee members help shape initiatives that build a strong\, prepared\, and competitive local workforce. The Workforce Development and Education Committee is co-chaired by Nathan Coker of Stanfield Air Systems and Dr. Jody Goodroe of the Madison County Charter School System.
